Salon at Sports Core to Relocate to Shops at Woodlake, Become Salon Aura
KOHLER, Wis. – MAY 4, 2015 – Kohler Co. today announced that Salon at Sports Core, one of several premier salons in Sheboygan County, will relocate to The Shops at Woodlake and begin operation as Salon Aura, a prominent group of Aveda salons based in Appleton and Green Bay.
As part of the Salon Aura group, the studio will become a top-tier Lifestyle Aveda Salons in Wisconsin and the only one in the county. The new location affords a beautiful natural setting on the shores of Wood Lake, creating a better environment for associates and existing clientele and ample parking. The innovative design and leading-edge equipment of the new $1-million, 5,000-square-foot spacious salon will offer a destination for relaxation and rejuvenation and allow the salon to expand its client base. Salon Aura has signed a 10-year lease for the space.
“For more than 25 years the Salon at Sports Core has served the community, but the Salon has long since outgrown its space. We are excited to expand services and offer guests an enhanced experience,” said Michael Belot, general manager of Destination Kohler. “Under Salon Aura, the Salon will thrive and continue to be a staple of the community as a resident of Shops at Woodlake.”
The expanded footprint of Salon Aura will provide more work space for stylists, a broader menu of services, large retail area, additional stations, new leading-edge equipment, private rooms for specialty services and employment opportunities. Sports Core members will continue to receive a 20 percent discount on salon services, and the salon’s pricing structure will remain the same.
Renovations on the space will begin this Spring, with opening expected in August. The Salon at Sports Core closing will coincide with the opening of Salon Aura, with no interruption in client service. Salon Aura will employ all Salon at Sports Core associates and match current pay and benefits for eligible associates and maintain seniority of stylists.
Salon Aura is an upscale salon business led by owner Jim Gill, focusing on the Total Beauty Experience since 1984, with salons in Fox Valley and Green Bay. The Kohler salon will be its fifth location. Salon Aura is an established business with Midwestern roots focusing on the welfare of its team, including continuing education and offering benefits and compensation above industry standards.
